Air New Zealand: Forget everything you know about flying

As the airline that flies passengers on some of the world's longest routes, there’s not much
Air New Zealand doesn't know about long-haul travel. So it comes as no surprise the airline has left no stone unturned with the launch of its game changing new product*.

Food and beverage Fresher, tastier cuisine

We know that simply offering chicken or beef won’t cut it in future, so they’ve designed a delicious new menu. Whether it's delicious Eggs Benedict for breakfast in Business Premier, a mouth watering gourmet beef burger for dinner or a refreshing salad, we're sure you'll agree that their updated menu will be better than anything you've ever tasted on a flight. You can also order snacks and drinks at the touch of your screen - even while you're in the middle of a movie!

Economy Skycouch™

Whether you're a couple who'd like a bit of extra room, parents with a young child, or a parent with two restless kids, you'll find the innovative new Economy Skycouch™ is the perfect solution. The Skycouch is a trio of three Economy seats that together create a flexible space for whatever you want it to be – to relax and stretch out in, or for the kids to use as a play area. It's like having your very own couch on the plane. By booking this three-wide seat space, you really can get the most from your long-haul flying experience.

  • The Skycouch™ has leg rests at two positions: the first at 60 degrees and the second flat/horizontal
  • Window armrest lifts away to create a couch, ideal for families or for couples who want to relax together
  • 20 sets of Skycouch™ seats available on outer rows of cabin (nearest windows)
  • The distance between seats is 32-33" (81-83cm) and seat recline 6" (15cm)
  • The length of the Skycouch™ is 5'1" (154cm) and the depth, approximately 29" (73cm)

Premium Economy Spaceseat™

The focus for Premium Economy was on creating ample space and privacy. The design of the revolutionary new Spaceseat™ means that the person sitting in front of you can’t recline into your personal space. The seats that run through the inner space of the cabin have been designed for couples, so you can relax together, or turn to face each other to share a meal. The seats on the outer space of the cabin cater more for those who need some uninterrupted work time, or for people who prefer to keep to themselves during the flight.

  • Individual space for each seat with no shoulder touching or involuntary armrest sharing
  • Hardback Spaceseat™ shell that stops the person in front reclining into your space. Your seat slides forward to maximise space
  • Direct aisle access from most seats (except window seats)
  • Bean bag style footrest to create your own resting position, real pillows and luxurious fleece blanket
  • On demand entertainment on 10.6" touch screen with iPod and USB connectivity, PC power outlets and noise cancelling headphones
  • Tasty new menu options including gourmet burgers and selection of fine New Zealand wines
