Yungaburra. Tour of the Giants

Start at the giant strangler fig on the outskirts of Yungaburra, a reminder of the magnificent forests which once covered this area. Most of the large trees were felled for timber, but some of the forest giants remain - the twin Kauri Pines beside Lake Barrine and the Giant Red Cedar at Gadgarra Forest.

Millaa Millaa

Waterfall Circuit. This is an easy drive along the back roads around Millaa Millaa to three picturesque waterfalls, short walks lead to viewing areas and swimming holes at Millaa Millaa, Zillie and Elinjaa waterfalls. Continue to Nandroya and Tchupalla Falls, and Millstream Falls is you have time.

Undara Volcanic National Park

Experience geology and diverse rock formations. Thousands of tiny bats are an amazing spectacle as they leave caves at dusk. Bettongs visit campsites at night.

Dalrymple National Park

Encompasses unique geological formations and features the lava flows of the Toomba Basalt. Ideal for birdwatching, exploring open woodland and immersing yourself in local fauna.

Paluma

Be enchanted by the diversity of flora and fauna that can be found at the southern end of the Wet Tropics Rainforest. Explore the tin mines amongst the rainforest.

Ingham

Visit Broadwater, take a swim and follow the path to view the giant Fig Tree. Marvel at Wallaman Falls, the highest shear drop waterfall in Australia and maybe spot a cassowary.

Tyto Wetlands

View the pretty Josephine Waterfalls that are located in the shadow of Mt Bartle Frere, Queensland's highest mountain. Eubenangee Swamp National Park is an important wetland that contains a number of rare plants species and assists in the conservation of the region's wildlife, particularly birds, butterflies, turtles and crocodiles.
