Margaret River and South West Holidays

Holidays to Margaret River are the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city lifestyle. With stunning beaches, majestic forests, spectacular caves and a cosmopolitan lifestyle, Margaret River has something to please everyone.

Discover Margaret River's wineries

Infamous for its wine, port, cheese and the introduction of chocolate and coffee Margaret River is a hot spot for those who follow their taste buds. Wine lovers will be impressed by over 200 vineyards and 95 wineries in the region. Margaret River holidays just beg you to spend lazy days wandering between cellar doors, experiencing the delicious range of wines and port native to this region. You’ll be truly fascinated by how each vineyards unique micro-climate means that no two bottles are ever quite the same.

Head into town, to be surrounded by a tantalising selection of award-winning restaurants and cafés, with menus packed full of the freshest locally grown produce. Scattered throughout the countryside are many more eateries, where you can enjoy a meal against scenic forest backdrops. Head to one of the many produce markets to pick up wedges of delectable artesian cheese, or if you’re partial to something sweeter, take a tasting tour of Margaret River’s very own chocolate factory.

Iconic landscapes

If you can bear to tear yourself away from indulging in food and wine, there are many walking and hiking opportunities for all levels of experience. The most famous walk is the Cape to Cape track, which follows the coastline, allowing you to enjoy fascinating sea landscapes. This is a 140 kilometre track which takes a few days, but you can easily enjoy smaller parts of it which only take anything from just a few hours to a whole day.

Head further south and travel through the Warren National Park to Albany, with magnificent coastal scerny and the chance to spot migrating humpback whales during whale season (June to November). The National Anzac Centre in Albany is one of Australia's most important cultural pilgrimages, overlooking the harbour from which over 41,000 servicemen and women departed for the Great War .

There are plenty of fantastic beaches along Margaret River's south west coast but Busselton Beach has got to be my favourite. The jetty is instantly recognisable with its famous blue and white beach cabins. In fact, it's the longest jetty in Australia!
