Wilderness Lodge Arthur's Pass

Best for location

Mountain View Room: From £238 per person per night

Sheer comfort and hospitality awaits you in this spectacular mountain setting. The Wilderness Lodge Arthur's Pass is nestled in mountain beech forest, midway between Christchurch and the South Island’s West Coast, easily accessible by road or the TranzAlpine train.

Set on a 4000 acre working sheep farm and nature reserve, guests are invited to join a daily programme of guided activities. Hike alpine trails, kayak on mountain lakes and search for Southern Alps wildlife. Every second afternoon join a farmer guide to watch sheep-dogs in action, hand-feed lambs, see sheep shearing and learn about merino wool.

All rooms look out to the peaks of Arthur’s Pass National Park. For ultimate privacy we recommend an Alpine View Lodge. These superior rooms are spacious with fireplaces, spa baths and great views.

The Wilderness Lodge is a paradise for nature lovers, active travellers and those seeking to experience wild New Zealand.
