Denarau Holidays

Flanked with luxurious five-star resort hotels and an extensive range of fantastic restaurants, it’s difficult to believe that Denarau Island only started being developed for tourism a little over five years ago. Just 6km west from Nadi town, this island is the perfect respite from the madness of Nadi whilst still being close enough to take a day trip and get an idea of the Fijian way of life.

Plus, with plenty of activity for families and just a short distance from the international airport, Denarau can make a great family-holiday destination as well as paradise for couples.

Things to do on Denarau Island

Stir from your sun bed slumber and see what this holiday haven has to offer. Families with children might visit the Big Bula Inflatable Waterpark that features colourful inflatable waterslides, jumping castles and water obstacle courses. The Bala Bus makes for easy transportation. In fact, everything is easy on Denarau Island.

Alternatively, get involved with some authentic food experiences with a cooking class at the Flavours of Fiji cookery school. From full-on Kaiviti Magiti (local feast) menus to tropical desserts, this is a fun way to become acquainted with Fijian cuisine. Children as young as eight-years old are welcome to join, too. Or for those who just want to taste without the toil, head to Nadina Authentic Fijian Restaurant, for local cuisine made from home-grown ingredients. It’s a popular stop with holidaymakers – the fresh prawns with ota (a local bush fern) and chef-squeezed coconut cream is a popular signature dish.

Here on Denarau you’ll find a lot of activity on offer. Adrenalin Fiji runs watersports shops at all Denarau resorts – they specialise in jet-ski safari, parasailing, big game fishing, and waterskiing to name just a few. Families with little ones can tailor an activity for children from just two years old.
