The Interislander offers a convenient daily service across the twelve mile Cook Strait separating the North and South Islands. In three hours, you’ll cruise across Wellington’s stunning harbour, around the remote North Island coastline and into the peaceful Marlborough Sounds – which is the breath-taking entrance to the South Island.

Cruise into the Marlborough Sounds and take in the natural beauty and tranquillity of this stunning area. With an informative commentary you will learn about the pioneering families who have settled in the Sounds over 6 generations. Head through the inner Pelorus Sound and Kenepuru Sound before visiting the Greenshell Mussel farm where your skipper will explain why this delicacy grows so well in the Sounds, and learn how the mussel farmers get the mussels to grow on the ropes. Taste the local favourite of freshly steamed Mussels matched perfectly to a complimentary glass of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. A stunning wine and food match in a beautiful part of Marlborough.

Experience the magic of Marlborough with a visit to world famous wineries, to taste the wines, olive oils and the gourmet foods that make this region a gourmet province. Travel through the iconic vineyards while your guide gives you an insight into how these great wines are crafted.

After two wine tours enjoy lunch on the waterfront (own expense), before departing the marina for a unique Seafood cruise through the beautiful Marlborough Sounds. Enjoy seafood tasting with a glass of crisp Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, before heading back to shore for your return transfer to your hotel. A perfect day in the Sounds!

Queen Charlotte Track Guided Walk

Cruise by boat from Picton to the historic reserve at Ship Cove, before heading out on a guided walk along the Queen Charlotte Track to Endeavour Inlet, approximately 14km away. With a mixture of beech forest with punga ferns and other native New Zealand foliage, this section is widely regarded as the premier section of the Track. Your local guide will explain the historical significance of the area as well as detailed information on flora and fauna. A gourmet lunch is supplied as well!
