Journey back in time through the Maori village of ‘Te Tawa Ngahere Pa’ and experience pre-European lifestyle and customs with tribal songs, dances and activities. As the night unfolds share a Hangi feast, cooked the traditional way on hot stones in an earthen oven, and relax with the informal and friendly atmosphere of feasting and entertainment.

TranzAlpine in a Day

Embark on one of the top ten train journeys in the world. Board the TranzAlpine to travel through the Southern Alps to Arthur’s Pass. Continue your tour by road in to the snow-capped mountains. Following lunch there is time to explore the picturesque village of Arthur’s Pass Arrive at the Waimakariri River to board a jet boat, as you continue your journey by river down stream 15km to Woodstock Sheep Station for afternoon tea in a secluded riverside lodge. For the final leg of the journey, you board a coach as you travel back across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch City.
